Ethical Principles

The journal expects authors, editors and reviewers to act honestly and responsibly. These principles apply to everyone involved in a submission.

Authors

  • Submit original work that has not been published before and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • List as authors only those who contributed substantially, and make sure every listed author agrees to be identified as an author.
  • Obtain permission to publish all photos, documents, datasets and other third-party material.
  • Respect the people and communities involved in the activity. Where appropriate, obtain informed consent and ethics approval in line with the legal requirements of the study's country.
  • Cite sources accurately and disclose any conflict of interest or funding.
  • Tell the editorial office promptly if you find a significant error in your published article.

Editors

  • Assess manuscripts on their merit and their fit with the aims and scope of the journal, without regard to the authors' identity or affiliation.
  • Keep submissions confidential until publication and handle conflicts of interest fairly.

Reviewers

  • Keep manuscripts and reviews confidential, review objectively and declare any conflict of interest. See the Reviewer Guideline.
