Aims and scope

Simbisa Community Empowerment (SIMCOEM) addresses prevalent challenges and topics in community service at the national level. It aims to share conceptual work and research findings from the community service field.

The journal features a range of activities by different groups of people that address and manage opportunities, barriers, challenges and societal issues. Communities and partners are also involved in carrying out the service activities.

Peer review

Every manuscript passes desk review and initial manuscript evaluation by the Editorial Board. It is then sent to peer reviewers (Mitra Bestari). See the Reviewer Guideline and the Submissions page.

How the review works

  1. SubmissionRegister, log in and submit your manuscript online.
  2. Desk reviewThe Editorial Board checks fit with the journal and the prescribed format.
  3. Peer reviewManuscripts that pass are evaluated by peer reviewers (Mitra Bestari).
  4. DecisionThe editors decide to accept, request revision or reject.
  5. PublicationAccepted articles are published in open access.

Open access and fees

The journal provides immediate open access to its content and charges no publication fees. See the Open Access Policy and the Price Policy.
